Clear Heart is a series of hollow resin sculptures in the shape of hearts, each filled with upcycled, symbolic objects from my life. These works explore how we carry our pasts—emotionally, physically, and symbolically—whether we mean to or not.
The first hearts were made during a studio move, using items I had packed away: things no longer useful or relevant, but still deeply tied to who I am. I wanted to make them visible again. To honor them.
Each heart is a kind of personal archive—a transparent body holding memory, experience, and emotion. The series is an invitation to reflect on what we hold inside, and how those stories continue to live with us.
Expectations begins with a vinyl balloon printed with sky—shaped like a cloud—forming the outer shell. Inside are layered objects of transition and capture: keys, a lock and chain, an Amazon package, a spiral, a neon orange hose, and decorative aquarium beads.
This heart reflects the weight and complexity of expectations—the ways they can trap us in cycles of illusion and disappointment, but also hold deep reserves of hope. It’s about the facades we build, the spirals we enter, and the fragile beauty of wanting more.
