Couples is a collaborative piece made with Yuri Masnyj on the occasion of the exhibition Couples, where artist pairs were invited to make new work together.
We approached the project by combining our distinct practices: Yuri’s structural, architectural reclaimed materials sensibility shaped the base form—a deconstructed room or stage—while I brought in a video work set to Carly Rae Jepsen, on a small digital screen that layered sound, movement, and pop-nostalgia into the space.
The result is a shared landscape that plays with intimacy, contrast, and fantasy. It brings together two different visual languages into one charged, slightly surreal encounter—balancing rawness and play, structure and feeling.
